Description
A superb Japanese Meiji period red lacquer desk. The super structure having a stylised carving of Mount Fuji with a dragon amongst clouds and 2 staggered shelves. The righthand side having a dragon carved door which opens to a fitted stationary compartment. The writing surface with a replaced burgundy leather with blind and gold with 2 drawers below. The lower section with open kneehole supported by dragon carved legs to one side and a cupboard containing 4 drawers to the other with carved panel back and supporting under shelf. The whole in excellent condition with carved decoration to all sides and working locks and keys. Sizes:- Height...59''/ 150cm. Max.Width...39''/ 99cm. Depth...27.5''/ 70.5cm.
