Description

A fine quality Regency mahogany writing table of rectangular form.

This table consists of a black leather tooled top surrounded by a mahogany crossbanding leading down to a crossbanded mahogany edge with ebony black line.

The two drawers to the front having superb mahogany veneers with ebonised cockbeads, each having oak linings and fitted oak compartments to the interior. Each drawer has two brass handles and the back of the table having two dummy drawers identical to those at the front.

The side panels each have a square ebonised moulding with shaped ebonised cockbead decoration on the shaped corners.

The base consists of two superbly shaped supports with carved foliate brackets to the top with square ebonised mouldings leading down to carved brackets, all supported on a moulded block plinth with applied turned and ebonised paterae terminating on four superb quality ormolu lion paw feet.

This table is in excellent condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home, office or library.
