Shiraz carpets are traditional hand-knotted rugs woven by nomadic and village tribes in the Fars province of south-western Persia, renowned for their geometric motifs and rich wool piles.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-spun wool piles on wool or cotton warps and wefts, dyed using natural vegetable and mineral colourants.

Authenticity is indicated by hand-spun wool with natural abrash colour variations, asymmetrical Persian knots, traditional tribal geometric motifs, and hand-finished selvedges.

These pieces anchor contemporary spaces by introducing rich textures and heritage patterns, working effectively against neutral wooden floors or layered over larger sisal carpets.

Preserve the fibres through regular gentle vacuuming without a beater bar, professional organic washing when necessary, and keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
