Johnson & Co. The desk has a rectangular moulded top with tooled leather writing insert above a central drawer over kneehole. Each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with the original decorative arts and crafts handles and there is a key with several working locks. This lovely antique stands on a moulded plinth, splits into three sections for removal and is finished on the back, so may be placed in the centre of a room if desired. It is full of the beautiful charm and character you expect to see in a true antique, has aged to a warm walnut shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
