Victorian Figured Walnut Davenport Desk

Description

Here we have a really beautiful piece of Victorian furniture. It is a lovely little davenport desk in superbly figured walnut. For a piece of 150 year old furniture it is in remarkable original condition.

It stands on small bun feet all of which have their original casters. At the front are nicely carved and shaped supports with fine fretwork panels. To one side is a door which opens to reveal four mahogany lined drawers. The dark green leather lined writing surface (replaced) opens to a storage compartment and four dummy drawer fronts. At the back is a fitted stationary compartment, the lid of which has its original gilt brass gallery.

It is all in superb original condition and the most beautiful mellow colour.

The maximum dimensions are:

55cm (21.5“) wide

78cm (31“) high

56cm (22“) deep
