Very Rare Original Campaign Desk

Description

An amazing original mahogany officers campaign desk, probably by Ross and co of Dublin. This striking desk has been fully restored to the highest standard, with a lovely rich red colour. Original handles and castors with new sympathetic leathers fitted brought back to its former glory. The 5 drawers are all lined with mahogany, the centre of the top lifts and is supported from behind to create a slope for working on, the wonderful carved legs are typical of the 1840’s and 1850’s. A great gentleman’s desk. The legs simply unscrew and fit inside the drawers, this was for ease of transport when going on military campaigns.
