Spectacular Victorian Figured Golden Walnut Antique Davenport Desk

Constructed from Beautiful Quality Figured Walnut with Quality Ebony Banding And Boxwood string inlay this stunning davenport desk dates from around 1870. It has a dome top lid with pen and inkwell compartments and a sloped moulded fall front with the original leather writing insert. The interior comprises of four faux drawers with small brass handles and would make an ideal storage for stationary. One side has four working mahogany lined drawers with beautifully turned handles whilst the opposite side has four faux drawers. The back is finished so this striking antique may be placed in the centre of a room if so desired. The front has beautiful turned decorative columns and the piece as a whole stands on small bun feet with castors. The walnut has aged to a golden shade with a striking grain, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
