Description

Victorian C1880 oak twin pedestal desk writing table (possibly Continental European origins).

Pollarded oak veneer to the fronts of the pedestals (looks a bit like burr walnut, but less common).

Lovely patinated (with wear and marks) leather top.

This is a lovely piece, that is full of age, charm and character.

Solid, heavy quality piece with no loose joints....a very rare find.

This is a one piece desk (does not come apart).

The drawer and cupboards open and close freely.

Overall maximum dimensions: 157cm wide, 76.5cm deep, 76.5cm high (61cm high knee hole).

There are just a few historic extinct woodworm holes, that we have treated for good measure. We have no keys and the locks are consequently untested. The veneer on the feet/bottom plynth (at the base of the pedestals) has gone a bit crinkly/flakey/bubbly, but given where it is, this is not too noticeable.

As with all genuine antique furniture, you can expect to see some historic knocks, marks, wear, imperfections, cracks, scratches, repairs and/or alterations.
