The desk incorporates a Davenport top, with a very pretty carved open fretwork gallery to the back flanked by inkpot stands either side. The gallery section is hinged and opens up to reveal a compartment storage area for pens constructed of birds eye maple. The front features a leather fall, which is hinged to reveal an internal storage area underneath for documents, which is lined with birds eye maple. The top is set with three sage green leathers and finished with gold tooling to the perimeter. The top is finished with a lovely shaped moulded edge and pretty bur walnut figuring. The top section of the legs features ring turned floral carved columns, which transcends into a floral carved bulbous section above floral carved splayed feet. The legs terminated on brass and ceramic castors. A floral carved ring stretcher connects the two legs.

This desk boasts a rich brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
