The serpentine shaped desk features a shaped gold tool black leather inset to the centre of the desk, with a walnut surround and symmetrical marquetry veneer to the perimeter. The edge of the desktop features an elegant moulded edge with chamfered corners. Below, the three serpentine shaped drawers sit above an elegantly shaped frieze. These three drawers retain the original working locks and key; they are pine lined and hand dovetailed. The cupboard doors above also retain the original working lock and key. All drawers retain their original elegant brass rococo handles. The small drawers are cedar lined, whereas the larger drawers are pine lined. The desk boasts stunning symmetrical mirror matched figured marquetry veneers to all drawer fronts, the cupboard doors and this is also evident around the inset leather desktop itself. Pronounced cabriole legs, with carved anthemion motifs to the knees and base of the leg, support the desk.

This is a two-piece desk and is designed to dismantle which allows for easy transportation and access into the house. The section that sits on top of the desk is designed to detach from the desk.
Condition Report:

This item is in excellent condition. The leather is clean, free from stains, rips or scratches. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desk itself, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The three large drawers and the central cupboard feature the original working locks and a key. All drawers retain their original brass rococo handles. Importantly, all of the mirror matched symmetrical figured walnut veneer is all intact and in excellent condition. The desk stands firm on the ground; it does not wobble, is solid in joint and is ready to use.
