Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1920s.
It has a well utilized tooled red leather writing insert above a central drawer and over knee hole. Each pedestal has four graduating drawers with swan neck handles. The sides and the back of this super desk are beautifully panelled and finished so may be placed in the centre of the room if so desired. The Oak has aged to a light medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
