Edwardian Oak Antique Roll Top Desk

This Appealing Edwardian Oak Antique Roll Desk has the original makers stamp Inglesants Of Leicester circa, 1910. It has a beautifully slatted S shaped roll top with the original brass key escutcheon and key with working lock, as the top rolls down it automatically locks all the drawers. The interior has two drawers, two sliding pen holes and several pigeon holes. The lower section has a central drawer over knee hole and each pedestal comprises of a pull out writing slide and two over smaller over one deep double drawer with the original oak moulded handles. The sides and back are attractively panelled and finished and may be placed in the centre of the room is so desired, it also splits into several sections for easy removal. The oak has aged to a mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
