It was listed by Marylebone Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The back panel of this desk matches the drawer. The top ends have carved rosettes & other decoration on the brackets. The beautifully turned legs are also grooved & joined lower down with a decorative cross stretcher ledge. The legs culminate with the original black porcelain casters. Who ever made this piece had a great eye for detail. I would date it to around the 1850's period & it's in lovely original condition.
