Edwardian Serpentine Mahogany Leather Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

Edwardian serpentine front flame mahogany leather top desk or writing table. This is a lovely rare and quality piece, that is full of age, charm and character. Solid with no loose joints and no significant woodworm. The oak lined drawers slide freely (some internal staining as one would expect). An attractive quality piece.

Note that this is a one piece item and does not come apart. The leather top is a recent replacement with deliberate aging and patination.

Some cracking to the side panels, but stabilized and filled. No keys and the locks are untested.

Overall maximum dimensions: 137.5cm wide, 62.5cm deep, 77.5cm high (58.5cm high knee hole at the centre, 60cm high at the edges).
