E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The interiors having letter divisions with pentray and inkwell the sides to each satinwood banded and inlaid. Above the lids are letter or coin slots for posting into the corner drawers below again all surfaces inlaid. The leather lined working area having satinwood banding as dose the top which also has a moulded edge. All over 2 oak lined drawers with crossbanded edgeshaving 'Urn' and foliate inlays and brass handles. The back and sides having profusely inlaid panels with urns and foliate scrolls. All on harebell and ribbon inlaid square tapered legs with corner bracket supports an spade feet with castors.
49" wide 23" deep 41" high
29" high wrriting surface.
Condition: Needs polishing especially the back which is faded. Can be done within the price.
