Fine Small Gillows Library Writing Table

Description

A really lovely and fine quality LIBRARY WRITING TABLE by this fine and famous firm of cabinetmakers.

The top, with its 'gadroon' carved edges, is inset with a good blind-tooled leather writing surface, whilst the frieze features two useful shallow mahogany-lined drawers to one side. It is raised on typical Gillows turned and carved supports, leading to gadrooned collars, leading to "Rigby" carved scrolled feet with original concealed castors within.

It is of a lovely compact size, just 34ins (86cms) wide and is in superb condition. Copy of original drawing and provenance available.
