Quality Early Victorian Figured Mahogany Antique Partners Desk

This Quality Early Victorian Figured Mahogany Antique Partners Desk dates from the Victorian period circa, 1840. This impressive desk has working cupboard and drawers on one side and mirrored faux cupboard and drawers on the opposite side so could be placed in the centre of a room if so desired. It has a rectangular moulded top with an early brown tooled leather writing insert above a long frieze drawer with beautifully turned mahogany knobs. Each pedestal has beautifully figured flamed mahogany cupboard doors with key and working locks. The left hand interior has two sliding trays, whilst the right hand interior has four graduating drawers again with beautifully turned handles. This marvellous desk stands on a plain plinth and splits into three sections for easy removal . This is a genuine piece of antique furniture which may have the usual minor character marks, as one would expect adding to its character and authenticity. The mahogany has aged to a rich medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
