The desk boasts a dark sage green & gold tool leather surrounded a by a rounded thumb moulded edge top. Below, there are 9 large working graduated drawers to one side. The cock-beaded drawers feature brass key escutcheons and later very good quality turned brass shaped swan neck handles. All drawers and cupboard doors feature working locks and keys. To the back of the desk, there are a further three working drawers and below, there are two large working cupboards with hinged doors. Each cupboard features a fixed shelf. Each drawer and cupboard door features lovely quality thumb moulded fronts and boast a stunning grain configuration. The drawer linings, which are constructed with pine with mahogany drawer bottoms, have been hand-dovetailed (a sign of good quality). Below, the pedestals feature traditional Victorian square corner reeded & moulded plinths. The desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. The pedestals can be rotated to either have all drawers on one side or alternate each side so that you have one cupboard and a set of drawers each side. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport.

Condition Report:
This desk is in excellent condition. The green leather is in excellent condition with no marks, damage or stains. We offer a service whereby the leather can be replaced with a different colour leather colour if preferred. If you wish us to replace it with a leather skiver with a different colour, please contact us for a quote. There are no splits to the timber on the desktop or pedestals. All drawers and cupboards in the desk features working locks and keys and close flush to the frame. The desk features later very good quality turned brass shaped swan neck handles. As this has been an antique working desk, there are old ink stains to some of the drawer bottoms (see photos). Free of woodworm, solid in joint; the desk does not wobble and is ready to use.
