Characterful Mellow Mahogany Victorian Pedestal Desk

This Mellow Mahogany Victorian Pedestal Desk dates from ca. 1870 and is full of charm and character from over 100 years of use. It has a rectangular top sitting above three figured drawers with the original turned handles. The desk has a central knee hole flanked by two cupboard doors with beautifully figured fronts, key with working locks and arched mouldings.

Each interior has two fitted drawers with brass swan neck handles. The desk stands on small turned bun feet, splits into three sections for removal and has aged to a wonderful mellow mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
