Victorian Iron Nursery Fender

Description

Circa 1880, Victorian iron nursery fender, with a flat front and rounded corners. There is a fine mesh on the frame which is held in position by several metal uprights and a metal base. The top of the fender is encased in brass. Unusually, the top section is also enclosed in a similar mesh pattern to the sides and front to prevent anything from falling into the fire.

Size 77cm high x 112cm wide x 43cm deep.
