Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The rectangular top has moulded edges and a green tooled leather writing insert above a central mahogany lined drawer over knee hole. Each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers, the majority having the original brass handles. It stands on a plain plinth and splits into three sections for ease of removal. It has aged to a medium shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
