Heydays Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The slope has a stay to hold it open and the compartment is fitted with pigeon holes and a further two small drawers. On the top there are three sage green leather inserts with gold tooling. The desk has eight short turned legs with castors and the back of the desk is finished so it does not have to be placed against a wall. It is in very good condition but whilst the handle backplates appear to be original not all the handles are exactly the same.
Measurements are: 48ins X 26ins X max height 37ins - desk top 30ins.
