Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
This Edwardian solid oak antique desk dates from around 1900 and is of beautiful quality. It has a rectangular moulded top with tooled leather writing insert and brass gallery.
The pedestal to the right has four graduating oak lined drawers with moulded edges and ornate brass handles. The desk has reeded sides, stands on turned feet with brass castors and has a finished back so may be placed in the centre of a room if so desired. It is an unusual small size so could always be used as a lamp table in a living space. The oak is a lovely medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
