Unusual Antique Victorian Flamed Mahogany Scottish Desk

This very unusual antique mahogany Scottish desk dates from the very early Victorian period, circa 1840. It has a raised shaped back over a rectangular top with moulded edges and canted corners. Below this can be found a central drawer over knee hole which displays a lovely flamed mahogany front. Each pedestal has a cupboard door with striking central flamed arched panel, when opened they each reveal a single fixed shelf within the interior. The desk stands on a plain plinth with canted corners and has the charm and character one would expect from a true antique piece. It is a lovely medium shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
