Description

An impressive Georgian carved pine fire surround, the protruding top with a carved moulded edge, above an 'egg and dart' moulded frieze, incorporating deeply carved opposing eagle heads holding foliage in their beaks with flowing acanthus scrolls; raised on jambs of stepped form with carved foliate moulding. Provenance Thornby Grange, Northamptonshire

Good condition. The fire surround being originally painted and now in dry natural pine.
