The desk boasts a good quality aged brown & gold tool leather insert to the desktop. Surrounding this is an oak frame, which terminated in a thumb-moulded edge. Below, the two pedestals contain 9 large working drawers to the front on one side. The drawers are hand dovetailed and lined with cedar (a sign of good quality). The drawer fronts feature brass back-plate escutcheons connected to brass swan neck handles. The drawers also feature brass escutcheon keyholes. All the drawers feature a working lock and key. There are only drawers to one side of the desk. Below, the pedestals feature the original rectangular plinths and original brown ceramic mug castors. The desk dismantles into three sections for easy transport. This style of desk was designed to sit against a wall.

Condition Report:
This desk is in very good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and plinths but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The leather and gold tooling is in very good condition however; there are two brown marks to the leather (see photos). We can replace the leather with a colour of your choice if you prefer. Please contact us for a quote. All drawers close flush to the frame and feature very old replacement brass swan neck handles. All drawers feature a working lock and key. Free of woodworm, solid in joint; the desk does not wobble and is ready to use.
