Heydays Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The mahogany has a rich warm colour with its original patina. There are nine drawers - three along the top and three in each pedestal, all with brass ring handles and dovetailed joints. The desk is in good antique condition; a few old repairs of letting in pieces of veneers to a couple of the drawer fronts (highlighted by flash in photos). The back is finished so the desk does not have to be sited against a wall.
