Heals & Son Mahogany Inlaid Pedestal Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900, George III style mahogany inlaid pedestal desk. The top middle drawer opens to reveal the stamp for ‘Heals & Son London’. The desk top is crossbanded and has a brown leather insert with tooling and gilding. Below the top is a configuration of a centre single inlaid drawer and further four graduating drawers on the left and right. The drawers have cast brass handles. Below the centre drawer are 2 carved quarter brackets. The facing of the desk has reeding and below the bottom drawer is also a reeded fore edge. The whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth. The desk is in one piece, good size and sturdy.

Size 75cm high x 111cm wide x 58cm deep.
