Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
It has a rectangular moulded top with tooled red leather writing insert above a wide central drawer over large knee hole. This is flanked by two pedestals each containing four graduating drawers with brass swan neck handles and moulded edges. The pedestals rest on moulded plinths with porcelain castors and the whole desk splits into 3 sections for ease of removal. It is a rich medium dark shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
