A good mid Victorian pedestal desk with nine drawers all of which are oak and cedar lined. The three top drawers are lockable and have keys. The middle drawer is fitted but these divisions could easily be removed if desired. The drawer pulls are original and are of turned rosewood. The desk kneehole has decorative arches which can be added to both sides suggesting that the desk was originally made to be free standing as opposed to against a wall which is also probably why the top moulding is to all sides. The central drawer fitting suggests it may have been made for a banking hall. The top is mahogany veneer and is of excellent grain as are the drawer fronts.

The bottom left hand pedestal drawer front has cracks in it but these are hardly visible and are not of concern.
