Superb Amboyna & Marquetry Inlaid Bonheur Du Jour-writing Desk

Description

We are delighted to be able to bring to the market this magnificent quality amboynawood Bonheur Du Jour or ladies writing desk , the desk stands on four amboyna turned and reeded ormolu mounted legs united by a shaped understretcher with a further inlaid central panel , the central frieze drawer with original double lock and key pulls out to act as the rest for the fold over writing surface , this itself is profusely inlaid on the top and opens to reveal a gilded tooled writing scribe inside.

The back consists of two banks of inlaid drawers either side of a mirrored central hutch all beneath a tiered set of three brass galleried shelves,every single panel is finished in the most superb detail with a combination of amboyna crossbanded or inlaid with other exotic woods, further detailed with brass or ormolu mounts.

Simply stunning in every respect !!
