Set of Six Chinese 18th Century Plates (Chien Lung 1736-1795)

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are offering a fine set of six 18th century Chinese octagonal plates, more commonly known as 18th c Chinese export ware , these plates were made in about 1760 in the middle of the reign of the emporer Chien Lung 1736-95 .

As you can imagine having travelled half way around the world over 250 yrs ago a lot of these wares were damaged , these have survived intact with minor damage now acceptable to dealers and collectors alike .

Three of the plates have minor rear rim chips and one of those three has a tiny front nibble , see photos ? i am pleased to advise that the other three would be deemed perfect with all six having the accepted minimal rim fritting (sharp edges) and no restorations or cracks whatsoever !!

A great set of plates that in our opinion will continue to rise in value due in part to their increasing rarity coupled with the insatiable appetite of the Chinese to have them back !
