A fine quality Art Deco pedestal desk of large size. The desk stands on pedestal bases with large double depth drawers to the bottom with faux fronts. The pedestals then have one true shallow drawer and the desk has three drawers across the top, above the two side top drawers are two slides. The reverse side of the pedestals contain cupboards. The top has a green leather skiver which is beautifully gilded to the edge, inlaid into the leather top is a wooden collar which maybe either for putting items directly through into the drawer below, cheques, cash etc, or it might have been for a light fitting. The desk is beautifully veneered in walnut with matched veneers and also with kingwood crossbanding in areas, all of which is of a good warm faded patina. The desk has an original set of handles which are chrome plated, and the whole is in excellent condition with just slight wear and tear.
