The desk has superb colour, patination and figuration in the grain. There is a Mahogany carcass with carefully selected Burr Walnut veneers. The top has a beautiful pierced brass gallery. The leather is tooled and gilded and in super condition. The lift top reveals the most stunning Satinwood interior with three drawers and one faux drawer with locking mechanism for the side drawer. The side drawer still retains its original brass topped inkwells and Mahogany pen tray and Satinwood lidded compartment. On the other side is a brushing slide. There is a row of Mahogany lined drawers and a row of faux drawers each finished with their original beautifully turned bun handles. The rear and front panels have stunning colour and figuration and the pierced architectural work to the under tier and base is sublime. There are bun feet to the base housing the original casters.
