Antique Luri or Khamseh garden rug

4th quarter 19th century

This superb rug is one of a small number belonging to the well documented group or tribal 'garden rugs'

The drawing is outstanding, with lions in each corner, a garden within a garden in the centre of the rug

the rug is covered with trees, flowers, and many different animals and birds

The colour palette is just glowing

The condition is excellent, with even wear and good pile

The sides have been rebound

Hand washed and ready for use or display.
