Superb Art Deco Bur Walnut Pedestal Desk by Heal's

A fantastic quality bur walnut pedestal desk by Heal's of London, dating to the Art Deco Period. Heal's along with Liberty's stand as the great designers and manufacturers of furniture of the Arts and Crafts and Art Deco periods. The desk stands on straight legs with three drawers running down each pedestal and a central long drawer. The drawers are all fully mahogany lined with the top right having the inlaid Heal's label. The drawers are chamfered and recessed which gives a typical Art Deco geometric profile and the handles, also all original are wooden lozenges in shape and as a sign of the quality are also veneered in bur walnut. The top is quarter veneered in matching pieces of bur walnut and this quality of veneers is repeated on the sides and back, allowing the desk to be free standing. The desk is of the finest quality for the period and is in excellent condition, the patina and colour is rich and warm, the whole is the most stunning piece which would work in modern or period interiors.
