Large Victorian Mahogany Art Nouveau Fire Surround

Description

A Very Large Victorian Mahogany Fireplace.

The Fireplace is superior quality, it stands 8ft high with a deep moulded dentil cornice beneath which there is a curved decorative copper canopy. The Copper canopy is profusely decorated with Art Nouveau stylised flower and leaves.

In the centre of the fire surround there is a deep mantelpiece and either side tall columns with wonderfully carvings, there is a picture in the centre at the top, I would have thought that this may have been a mirror originally

The Fireplace has been salvaged during house renovations, it is a Large Sitting Room Size and in very good condition and has the pleasant appearance of an Art Nouveau Sitting room

The overall measurement of the fireplace is 87” wide x 91” high and it is 18” deep. The opening is 36” x 37” highThe fire surround does break down into several pieces for transportation
