Antique Caucasian rug with most unusual design
4th quarter 19th century
A very interesting rug that is either a Kazak, Gendje or Karabagh
The repeat bird design is very unusual, containing the 'S' inside each motif
The rug is in superb condition with slight even wear, the dark charcoal background is corroded
Both ends retain the original braided end finishes
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
