Here we have the most special example of an Arts and Crafts desk I have seen.
Obviously a commissioned piece as there are overlaid carved initials to one side AHJ. The original brasses are in place and are a flat topped heart shape. The drawers are solid Oak lined including bases with front and rear dovetails. There is a galleried back with wonderful turned uprights and finials. There is a lovely Burgundy/wine coloured, tooled and gilded leather skiver with great patination. The drawers have reeded fronts and all run smoothly. The carving to the wonderfully shaped sides is exquisite and the desk sits on original ceramic casters. There are two shelves in the under tier with a faux cupboard as the drawers are behind. A breathtaking desk of the best quality ready for your home.
