A pair of late Victorian twin bedsteads originates from around 1890 in the late Victorian style, constructed with brass frames, mahogany timber panels, and iron elements. The combination presents polished gold-colored metalwork paired with warm brown wood panels, complemented by urn finials atop the posts, cast brass drapery swags along the top rails, and central rectangular brass plaques mounted on the footboards. Each bedstead measures 169 cm high, 107 cm wide, and 198 cm deep. These bedsteads suit placement in a principal bedroom or guest room, either arranged separately as twin beds or pushed together to form a wider sleeping arrangement. The design integrates decorative metal moulding on the rails and slender turned vertical supports, offering a structured framework for a domestic bedroom setting today.

Late Victorian brass bedsteads from the late nineteenth century frequently feature tubular brass frames, cast urn finials, decorative swags, and integrated timber panels such as mahogany or satinwood.

These pieces typically combine hollow gauge brass tubing or cast brass mouldings with cast iron frame fittings and polished solid timber inserts.

Authentic bedsteads feature heavy cast iron corner castors or dovetail joint brackets, cast brass detail fittings rather than lightweight stamped metals, and age-consistent patination.

A matching pair can be arranged in a guest room setting paired with understated neutral bedding to draw focus to the metal craftsmanship and warm timber tones.

Unlacquered brass elements require occasional cleaning with a soft dry cloth and gentle metal Polish, while wood panels should be protected with natural beeswax polish.
