Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large Victorian copper cooking pan follows a rustic farmhouse style, shaped with a round body measuring 38 cm in diameter and 11 cm in depth, extending to an overall length of 70 cm including the handle. The piece comprises a warm copper exterior showing natural tarnishing and weathering, paired with a tinned interior that displays a patinated, uneven surface. Structural elements include a neatly rolled rim at the top edge, a long tubular handle projecting upwards from the side, and a secondary loop handle riveted securely to the opposite side using visible metal fasteners. Positioned in a contemporary home today, the vessel suits placement on a kitchen island or open shelving as a functional cookware item or decorative display piece. The exterior shows historical surface marks, dents, and colour variations accumulated through age and use, while the heavy metal construction provides a solid, utilitarian form. The combination of the warm metallic body and the contrasting interior finish highlights the traditional craftsmanship characteristic of nineteenth-century kitchenware.

Copper cookware was widely adopted in eighteenth and nineteenth-century kitchens due to the metals superior thermal conductivity. Heavy-gauge vessels were standard equipment in country house kitchens and professional culinary establishments across Europe.

These vessels are crafted from heavy sheet copper, fitted with cast bronze, brass, or iron handles attached using copper rivets. The interior surfaces were historically coated with tin to prevent chemical reactions between raw copper and acidic food ingredients.

Authentic pieces display heavy hand-hammered construction, substantial weight, thick copper walls, and hand-applied copper rivets. Hand-tinned interiors, dovetail joints, or historical maker marks near the handles also indicate period craftsmanship.

Antique copper cookware is frequently displayed on open timber shelves, suspended from ceiling-mounted iron racks, or arranged on kitchen islands to add texture and historical interest to modern culinary spaces.

The exterior metal can be cleaned with non-abrasive copper polish to maintain shine, or left untreated to preserve natural oxidisation and patina. Tin linings should be washed gently with warm soapy water and non-abrasive sponges to avoid wearing through the protective layer.
