Description

This rare 18th-century figured ash tallboy features book-matched veneers, fine feather banding on the drawer fronts, a cross-grain cornice, and fluted pilasters. It is constructed with high-quality, clean, quarter-sawn oak drawer linings featuring dovetail joinery. The use of ash in 18th-century cabinet furniture is exceptionally rare, as walnut, mahogany, or oak were far more common during this period. The handles and escutcheons have been replaced; the feet remain largely original, with minor veneer repairs present at the base.
