Antique Mahogany Occasional Side Table

1900 - 1920
Description

A wonderful antique mahogany occasional side table, made in England, and dating from around the 1920’s period.

This is of great quality and is a useful size to be used as a lamp table or plant stand. The solid mahogany has a gorgeous colour tone and patina, the top flips up and there is useful storage space inside, there is also a pull of slide shelf that comes out from the side. This stands on legs with a finely constructed stretcher base and beautiful pierced fretwork under each corner. This is nicely finished on all sides so can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.

This English occasional side table dates from the 1920 Georgian Revival period and is made of solid mahogany with a warm brown finish. The rectangular top has a raised tray-top rim, a small metal knob handle on the side for a pull-out shelf, and internal storage. Square-section legs support the structure, accented by pierced fretwork corner spandrels and joined by a low X-frame stretcher with block feet.
