Queen Anne furniture, produced during the early 18th century in Britain, is characterized by refined proportions, rich wood veneers such as walnut, and minimalist carved embellishment compared to earlier Baroque styles.

Chests of this era were typically constructed with solid oak or pine carcasses finished with carefully matched walnut or burr walnut veneers, brass drop handles, and turned bun feet.

Authentic pieces generally feature hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, secondary timber drawer linings such as oak or pine, original brass backplate handles, and natural surface patination accumulated over centuries.

Position the piece as a focal point in an entry hallway, living space, or bedroom, contrasting the patterned wood grain by arranging clean-lined modern ceramics or contemporary framed artwork on top.

Dust surfaces regularly with a clean, dry lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice per year. Maintain stable humidity and position the item away from direct heat sources to prevent veneer movement.
