Radnorshire Fine Arts Ltd has dated this Vintage Maritime Watercolour Painting to the 1930s.
Watercolour, signed by the artist (lower left). Inscribed in pen and ink, on the back of the original frame; “A Danish Schooner. Belonging to Copenhagen, built in Canada during the 1st War”. Presented with a new mount in its original oak frame.

Watercolour: 14 3/8 x 19 1/2 in. (36.5 x 49.7 cm.)
Frame: 25 3/8 x 29 15/16 in. (64.5 x 76.1 cm.)
Condition: V Good, bright colours. The watercolour has been re-mounted and the oak frame is the original.
Hyams was a landscape painter; he was born in Portsmouth and spent his childhood in Guernsey.
He exhibited at the RA and the RI, in the provinces and abroad and is represented in Brighton and Hove Art Galleries. He painted many Sussex scenes and was Chairman of Brighton Arts Club in 1947. His home address is listed as 115 Queen’s Park Road, Brighton, Sussex.
