Lee Hawkins Antiques & Interiors has dated this Victorian Burr Walnut Credenza to the Victorian era.
The broad breakfront is centred by a large panelled cupboard door, veneered in richly figured burr walnut and framed by intricate marquetry incorporating scrolling foliate ornament and a central geometric motif. The surrounding frieze is similarly decorated with fine inlay, while slender turned columns with gilt-metal enrichments divide the principal sections and add further depth to the facade.

To either side are elegant curved glazed doors enclosing shaped shelves, providing useful display space for decorative objects, porcelain, glassware or a curated collection. The rounded outline softens the scale of the piece and gives it a particularly refined silhouette.

The top is finished in matching highly figured walnut, while the lower plinth is enriched with further inlaid geometric detail and decorative metal beading. The combination of burr walnut, marquetry, gilt-metal ornament and bowed glazing gives this cabinet considerable visual richness from every angle.
