Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency period watercolours created between 1811 and 1830 typically featured soft brushwork, detailed botanical subjects, and still life compositions. Artists emphasised delicate colour washes and precise line work, often framing their pieces in wide timber surrounds with gilded slips.

Works from this period were painted on heavy rag paper using water-soluble pigments derived from minerals and plants. Frames were commonly constructed from figured timbers such as birds eye maple or rosewood veneer, fitted with hand-drawn glass and an inner gilded wooden slip.

Authentic 19th-century watercolours display natural age-related characteristics such as minor toning or foxing to the paper. The reverse often shows historic paper backing or timber panel construction, and hand-veneered frames exhibit subtle irregularities consistent with period craftsmanship.

A small Regency watercolour functions as a focal accent on a narrow wall, within a reading nook, or as part of a curated gallery wall alongside other antique prints. The rich timber frame and classic subject matter complement both traditional English country interiors and layered contemporary spaces.

To prevent fading and paper degradation, hang the artwork away from direct sunlight and sources of heat or humidity. Ensure the painting is mounted using acid-free materials and protected behind UV-filtering glass.
