Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of 3ft single beds dates from 1930 in the Art Deco style, constructed from warm brown burr walnut veneer with oak framing, iron side rails, and timber slats. Each bed includes a headboard, a footboard, four iron side rails with shaped feet, two long metal rails, and bundled wooden slats tied with tape. The visible details comprise rich wood grain patterns, rounded corners, and stepped bracket feet on the headboards and footboards. Each bed measures 114.5 cm high, 91.5 cm wide, and 200 cm deep when assembled. These dismantled bed frames suit a guest bedroom or principal bedroom interior as functional single sleeping furniture. The traditional materials and historical design fit well within period rooms or vintage decorative schemes. Assembly requires joining the headboards and footboards with the supplied iron rails and laying the wooden slats across the frame to support a mattress.

FAQs

Art Deco bedroom furniture, prominent in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by clean geometric shapes, smooth surfaces, rounded corners, and rich wood veneers such as burr walnut.

Art Deco bed frames frequently feature figured timber veneers over solid wood cores, supported by iron side rails and castors to ensure structural integrity.

Authentic pieces usually feature period-appropriate metal side irons, castors, rounded or streamlined headboard silhouettes, and distinct book-matched wood veneers.

Pair these beds with modern crisp white linens and warm neutral wall colours to allow the rich grain and warm tones of the timber to take centre stage.

Keep timber veneers clean by dusting with a soft cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste periodically while avoiding direct sunlight and moisture exposure.
