A Victorian country chest of drawers originates from the late 19th century and presents in a pale honey scrubbed pine. The structural timber shows an established surface with timeworn patination and colour, whilst the two-over-two drawer configuration accommodates rubbed and stained dark bun handles and simple keyhole escutcheons. The whole piece is raised upon original turned bun feet, maintaining robust and structurally excellent joints that ensure smooth running drawers. Measuring 86 cm high, 90 cm wide, and 46 cm deep, this well proportioned antique provides substantial storage capacity while remaining manageable in scale. A versatile furnishing for contemporary interiors, this piece suits placement in a farmhouse kitchen, a welcoming reception hall, or a bedroom as a daily storage chest. The rustic farmhouse design aesthetic brings warmth and character to domestic spaces, integrating effortlessly with traditional or eclectic interior schemes. Practical proportions allow the top surface to display lamps, framed photographs, or decorative accessories, while the four deep drawers offer functional organisation for everyday items.

Scrubbed pine furniture from the 19th century was originally utilitarian furniture stripped of varnish or paint finishes, showcasing natural wood grain and straightforward functional joinery typical of Victorian country homes.

These chests typically feature solid pine construction, hand-cut dovetail joints, wooden drawer runners, turned bun feet, and dark turned wooden handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, hand-sawn backboards, original keyhole escutcheons, and signs of age-appropriate shrinkage or patina within the softwood.

Pair the natural light wood tones with crisp linen textiles, modern ceramic table lamps, or minimal wall art to balance traditional rustic character with a contemporary aesthetic.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth, avoid placing the item near direct heat sources to limit timber movement, and apply clear beeswax sparingly if surface protection against spills is desired.
