Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian mahogany dog kennel dresser displays a warm brown finish. The piece measures 106 cm high, 92 cm wide, and 45 cm deep. A gallery splashback surmounts the top surface, sheltering two small drawers fitted with round turned wooden knobs and small brass keyhole escutcheons. Below the drawers lies a large open central arched recess framed by subtle moulded woodwork, leading to a low shelf raised upon short turned feet. Traditional country house storage adapts easily to modern rooms as a characterful sideboard, hallway console, or low dresser displaying books and decorative objects. The compact proportions suit smaller living spaces, entryways, or studies, bringing classic Victorian craftsmanship and warmth to domestic interiors.

FAQs

A dog kennel dresser is a piece of cabinet furniture featuring an open arched central aperture, historically designed to resemble a dog kennel recess, flanked or topped by drawers and storage compartments.

Victorian dressers were predominantly constructed from dense hardwoods such as solid mahogany, oak, and walnut, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints and solid wood drawer linings.

Authentic Victorian pieces typically exhibit hand-cut joinery, turned wooden knobs, original brass keyhole escutcheons, natural timber shrinkage marks, and uneven wear around the feet.

A Victorian dresser can be incorporated into a modern hallway or dining room as a sideboard, serving as a functional storage hub that provides warm timber tones to balance contemporary neutral decor.

Maintain mahogany timber by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year, keeping the item away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
